My Review:
This is a slight departure from the usual Star Wars storyline in so much as I was expecting Rogue One to continue where Force Awakens left off. This particular Star Wars film is more like an insertion between Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith & Episode 4 - New Hope and that is why I think it should have been called Star Wars: Episode 3½.
As you can see from the synopsis above, the film is basically all about how the Rebel Alliance managed to get hold of the plans for the Death Star that is featured in New Hope. I felt that the film was missing a lot of Jedi action although there is a blind character that has Jedi skills without a Lightsaber and he believed in the Force. The film did feature some Star Wars characters that have been in other films like Bail Organa and (slight spoiler alert) a young Princess Leia (although this is a CGI version of Carrie Fisher as she is too old now to play a young Leia). This does have a nice, fairly long, action sequence which makes up the vast duration of the film and has an unexpected outcome. I won't give away how it ends in case you want to see the film, which I would recommend. The film also features a lot of the recognisable spacecraft from Star Wars such as X-Wings, Y-Wings, TIE Fighters and more.
