I was born on 26th September 1978 in Amman, Jordan. Here is an image of Jordan:-

When I was 4, I came to live in Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK, where I have lived ever since. I attended Kempshott Infants & Junior School till I was 11. At Kempshott Junior School, Liz Hurley's mother was the school music teacher! After Junior School, I attended Bishop Challoner Roman Catholic School and this is where I did most of my learning. I also discovered that I had a love of computers and helped to look after all the computers at the school. In 1995, I left Bishop Challoner, after passing my GCSE's to attend a local college, Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) to do my GNVQ Advanced in IT for 2 years. After passing the GNVQ, I continued at BCoT with a University of Portsmouth HND in Computing, which I, unfortunately, failed to complete. When that was finished in 1999, I got my first job working at local newsagents as a Sales Assistant, which was a lot of hard work dealing with local residents that had problems receiving their morning papers, etc. After 3 years, I got my first IT job working for an E-Commerce company called the Floyd Consultancy (trading as Shop@ssistant) based just outside of Reading in the Managing Director's converted garage, as their Technical Support. It was this job that got me interested in web development and taught me about JavaScript as their main product was written in JavaScript. I left that job shortly after 9/11 as sales had plummeted and the company could no longer afford to keep me on. Whilst I was working for them, I decided to do some weekend work for my local Pizza Hut restaurant as a waiter to earn myself some extra money. When I left Shop@ssistant, I increased my hours at Pizza Hut to try and compensate for the lost income. This was a lot of fun but also a lot of hard work especially when I had the last shift of the day where you have to clean the restaurant and shut everything down for the evening. I left there in 2002 and found a job as a General Assistant at one of the multiplexes here in Basingstoke. I manned the concession stand, which could be very busy especially when a new film came out. One of the perks of the job was that staff could see films before they were on general release to the public. This was a lot fun as it was the closest I would come to being a celeb!!! I worked there till after New Years of 2003. After that, I was left unemployed for a long time and it was during this time that I decided that I would specialise in network management and website development by doing a MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer) course with Computeach. It was a lot of hard work but in January of 2004, I went up to the test centre in Dudley, West Midlands and passed my first two exams to gain my MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) qualification. During my studies, I earned some money by doing some short term jobs for various people. In June of 2004, I got my next short term position for a company called Anacomp based in Wokingham, Berkshire. I was building desktops, laptops & a couple of servers that the company had bought from Dell by connecting the desktops to a hub and a small build network to install a Ghost image. After that was done, I then connected them to the company network to download & install updates from the Windows Update site. Then I would move onto the next batch of computers. When that project came to an end in July, I was left unemployed again and didn't get another job till June of 2005 when I got a 6 month project, again doing computer builds, but this time with IBM at the local Sony office. This again was a lot of fun as it allowed me to see some of the projects that Sony were working on and some of the laptops that they had designed. When that project came to an end, I got a job at a local cut-stem flower provider called World Flowers based at Hook, Hampshire, in their IT department as a PC Support Analyst. This basically meant that I helped to look after all the PC in the company as well as the touchscreens they used on the production floor. This job also involved me travelling to their other office based in Barnham, West Sussex and also to the Managing Director's office based outside of Andover. This job was a lot of fun and the staff were very pleasant. I left that job in June of 2007 & have been unemployed ever since. In January 2009, I was diagnosed as being a high-functioning autistic and feel this has answered a lot of questions about why I feel different and see things differently to other people. Please visit The National Autistic Society for more details. I have since decided to start my own IT business called Mark King Technical Support. It is an IT consultancy that specialises in network implementation/maintainance and website streamlining using XHTML, JavaScript, PHP & MySQL. Please visit the site.

As for my family, I have an older sister called Michelle (actually it's Paula Michelle, but as we have an auntie called Paula everyone calls her Michelle), who I call Mush (don't ask why! Long Story!) She was born in Indiana in 1974, the same place as my father. My mother was born in Tripoli and my late grandmother was born in Egypt. I have one cousin that was born in Ghana. You could say I am a right little mongrel!!! My joke is that I am more multi-national than IBM!!! Back to my sister, she lives in Wokingham, Berkshire with her two daughters.
