Petitions I've Signed
I have decided to have a page where I can post links to the petitions that I've signed on Change.org. Whenever I sign a petition I will add the link below and hope that people will add their signatures as well. Maybe then the world will slowly change for the better. I greatly appreciate any one that adds their signature to petitions as does the orginators of these petitions. On behalf of the orginators of these petitions, I would like to thank anyone and everyone who takes the time to sign these petitions.

Today I am signing a petition regarding the UK TV License that was started by Howard Ross with the following brief:
"I personally do not support the BBC because I believe they condone hate speech, and I don't want to watch their programmes. I'm sure there are many others who share my sentiment.
The BBC licence fee is a mandatory charge that everyone who watches live TV in the UK has to pay, regardless of whether they consume BBC content or not. This fee, currently set at £159 per year, is compulsory and tied to one’s ability to legally watch any broadcast television service in the country.
There are a growing number of UK residents who feel that the compulsory nature of the licence fee is unfair, especially when they have no interest in the content provided by the BBC or find it objectionable. Many people argue that in an age where subscription-based services like Netflix and Amazon Prime allow for a choice in what one wants to pay for, the BBC should adopt a similar model.
Moreover, the BBC receives over £3 billion annually from the licence fee, yet there are constant reports and public discussions regarding bias and concerns regarding the content they produce. Why should we be forced to contribute financially to an organization that doesn’t reflect our values or that we don’t wish to support?
It’s time for the government to reevaluate the licence fee, to consider more modern and fairer methods of funding that align with consumer choice and preferences in today's diverse media landscape.
Support this petition to call upon the government to abolish the mandatory BBC licence fee or at least introduce alternative funding models like subscriptions, allowing citizens to choose where their money goes.
Sign this petition to make our voices heard and bring about a change that respects personal choice and financial fairness."

Recently I have signed two petitions: one was created by Issy and this was her brief:
"In 2023, I proudly worked as a 999 call handler for the Metropolitan Police — answering cries for help during people’s darkest moments.
But my time there ended in deep disappointment when my colleague — someone tasked with taking emergency calls — made appalling, dehumanising remarks while on duty. He mocked a rape victim and made xenophobic comments about an immigrant.
These weren’t just inappropriate, they were deeply disturbing, and a blatant violation of the trust placed in the police by the public.
I reported him and he was dismissed. But then, shockingly, he was reinstated. The Met claimed the disciplinary panel had been “too harsh” and “too influenced by the Violence Against Women and Girls campaign”.
In other words, holding someone accountable for misogyny and racism was deemed excessive.
This kind of reversal is made possible by loopholes in the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020, Home Office guidance, and Met Police policies—rules that allow officers and staff who have breached professional standards to return to work, even after serious misconduct.
That’s why we need a review into the legislation and policies which enable police misconduct in the Met Police Force.
Too many incidents are brushed aside or downplayed, allowing individuals unfit for service to remain in uniform. This isn’t just a procedural flaw — it’s a betrayal of survivors, victims, and the wider public.
I’m calling on the government to urgently review and reform these regulations.
We need stronger safeguards, more transparency, and zero tolerance for misconduct that undermines public safety and trust.
Help send a message that we expect more from those who serve us—and that integrity in policing is non-negotiable."
The other was created by Mark (not me in any which way, pure coincidence) and his brief was:
"On September 19th, 2018, our beloved 24-year-old son Matthew was killed while working at the entrance to Slieve Gullion Forest Park in Newry during Storm Ali.
A tree came down in high winds, taking his life and seriously injuring his manager.
We believed the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) were investigating – but weeks later, we discovered they hadn’t even attended the scene.
It took a long and painful campaign, with help from Unite the Union, just to get an investigation started. It wasn’t until 2020 that HSENI took action, and by 2024, Matthew’s employer and the council were fined – but only for earlier failures unrelated to the day he died.
From day one, we have begged for a Coroner’s inquest – a chance to understand not only what happened, but why the system failed him so badly.
In late 2024, we were devastated to learn our request had been denied. We’re told the court answered all the questions – but it didn’t answer why HSENI didn’t investigate, why the police stood back, and why it took years of our fight for anything to be done.
We are now appealing to the Attorney General. We need an inquest – not just for Matthew, but to make sure no other family is left to carry this kind of grief alone.
This has shattered our family. And until the truth is properly heard, we cannot begin to heal.
We feel that something like this will happen again as both the parties are unwilling to admit to the failures which occurred on that day and the weeks, months and years after - and the only way to prevent this is a Coroner’s inquest."
Please sign both petitions!
Today I received an email from Change.org where Kelly Broomfield has asked people to sign her petition asking to hold military perpetrators of Sexual Crimes and Domestic Violence accountable under civilian law. I have signed and feel EVERYONE should sign this one as I think anyone that works in the military or with the Police should be accountable for their crimes. If I had my way I would make it so that if you worked in either organisation and you commited a crime there should be a minimum jail term of 5 years as well as what the crime would usually carner.
Gillian Mittins started a petition on behalf of her mother Anne Puckridge, a 99 year old WWII Veteran who lives in Canada. This hit a little close to home as Gillian's mum shares a name with my mother, Anne and both are considered Senior Citizens. That is one of the main reasons I chose to sign this petition. Please add your signatures as well and share it amongst your online friends.
